NATIONAL CUTTING HORSE ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2022 VICE-PRESIDENT CANDIDATES

FORT WORTH – The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) announces the two Vice-President candidates running for election in 2022: Mark Senn from Augusta, Georgia and Raymond Shumate of Hempstead, Texas. 

Mark Senn has been an NCHA member since 2006. Senn is an Amateur competitor who currently serves as chairman of the NCHA Finance committee, where he serves with the goals of bringing more transparency and accountability of the NCHA finances and establishing investment guidelines and goals. In addition, he has served as a Region 5 representative, an Area 18 board member, and an Atlantic Coast Cutting Horse Association board member.

Raymond Shumate became an NCHA member in 1982. He has trained horses for over 40 years competing at limited aged events and hauling Open horses along with Amateur and Youth customers to weekend events working to finish in the NCHA top 15 world standings. In addition to his training business, Shumate has produced the Waco Texas Futurity since 2009 and served as President and a board member of the Waller County Cutting Horse Association.

Voting for the NCHA Vice-President Election will run from April 4 through May 13, 2022. Ballots will be sent out by Simply Voting, NCHA’s third-party election administrator, by email and US Postal Service on April 4, 2022. You may vote either electronically or by paper ballot, but not both. Completed ballots must be received by Simply Voting NO LATER THAN MAY 13, 2022. Please note that the ballots must be received, not postmarked, by the deadline.  Purpose of the NYCHA

  • Improve and promote the cutting horse industry
  • Improve and develop the capabilities of youth in the breeding, raising and showing of cutting horses
  • Develop scholarship, leadership, community interest and participation of youth interested in cutting horses
  • Encourage moral character, sportsmanship and clean living among all its members
  • Allow the youth members to learn about the leadership of the NCHA by working in conjunction with the NCHA Youth Committee
  • Acquaint the youth members with the structure and functions of the NCHA

It is a constant goal for the NCHA to do its best to work with and fundraise for our youth members. There is no greater pleasure than watching the children of our industry grow up and become successful adults. All efforts of the NYCHA Officers, Youth Committee Members, and Youth Coordinator are committed to encouraging education and growing funding for scholarships for the youth that will become the future of our industry.
