Constance Jaeggi and Dual Clay scored 222 points to win the 2020 PCCHA Holy Cow Performance Horses Futurity Non-Pro Cutting Stakes and $9,113 on October 8, in Las Vegas. Cody Hedlund and Luv The Way U Lie posted 219 points for reserve and $7,500, while Kathleen Moore and KR Isadorable earned third place and $6,0000 with 218 points.

This was the second win and seventh 4-year-old finals performance for Dual Clay LTE $88,737, owned by J Five Horse Ranch of Weatherford, Tex. The Dual Rey daughter, bred by Rick Beck, Hemet, Calif., won the Open championship with Grant Setnicka at last month’s Brazos Bash, and placed fourth with him in the Open Cutting Stakes at this show. She was also Open reserve champion of the Idaho Futurity. Her dam, Play Like Clay, by Freckles Playboy,  was an Open finalist at the NCHA Futurity and Super Stakes under Lindy Burch, and has produced seven earners of $207,800, including Metallic Player LTE $76,291, fourth-placed Open finalist in the 2014 PCCHA 3-Year-Old Futurity with Phil Hanson and Who Dat Kitty LTE $29,608, 2014 NCHA Derby Amateur Unlimited champion with Taylor Carbo.

Constance Jaeggi, the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $727,160, was NCHA Non-Pro World Champion riding 2014 Non-Pro Horse of the Year Saguaro Ichi, and was owner of 2016 NCHA Open Horse of the Year Ichis My Choice, also shown by Setnicka.

Cody Hedlund, Acampo, Calif., the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $1,074,318, bred Luv The Way U Lie LTE $36,731, by Once In A Blu Boon, out of Teles Bout This Cat LTE $230,047. Teles Bout This Cat won the NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro championship with Hedlund in 2011, and has produced four earners of $180,706, including Iggy Reyzalea LTE $86,242 and Wood Ya Teles LTE $56,233, who Hedlund showed to win last year’s 4-Year-Old Non-Pro championships in the Ike Hamilton and West Texas Futurities, and to claim the PCCHA Cutting Stakes Non-Pro reserve championship.

Prior to the 2020 PCCHA Stakes, Hedlund and Luv The Way U Lie were NCHA Futurity and Derby Non-Pro finalists, and placed third in the West Texas Derby.

Kathleen Moore, Madill, Okla., the NCHA earner of $652,758, won the 2020 West Texas Futurity Classic on Summer Time Fun LTE $137,242, who James Payne showed as Open champion of the 2019 NCHA Derby.

KR Isadorable LTE $52,916, by Hottish, was bred by James Karhan, Blanco, Tex., and purchased by Moore as a yearling at the Western Bloodstock NCHA Futurity Sales. She is a full sister to Just Getting Started LTE $164,977, and one of three NCHA money earners of $284,120 out of KR Isadora Dual LTE $146,164, the 2012 NCHA Open Super Stakes champion under Clay Johnson.

KR Isadorable won the 2020 Open Cotton Stakes with Lloyd Cox and was a finalist at the NCHA Futurity and five other major events with Cox as well.

The PCCHA Holy Cow Performance Horses Futurity continues through Oct. 10.
