The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) is proud to welcome Ghostwood Distilling Company as an official sponsor of the NCHA and the 2020 NCHA North Texas Chevy Dealers World Championship Futurity presented by Great American Insurance.
Created out of the dream of founder Lucas Perks, Ghostwood Distilling Company was established in 2014 in northern Illinois. The journey to produce a blended bourbon whiskey with both a background and a story led Perks to the wheat fields near Bozeman, Montana where Ghostwood is based out of today.
“The inspiration for our bourbon was created using a five-gallon still found in the tack room in the back of my parents barn in Illinois,” Lucas Perks, Ghostwood Distilling Company Founder & Owner said. “The bourbon was matured and raised in Bozeman, Montana where we found the perfect wheat farmed by the Droge family located in Manhattan, Montana.”
Exceptionally smooth with a distinctively spicy finish, Ghostwood’s blended bourbon provides customers with a unique tasting experience. Smoothness and a unique experience are also two attributes found in successful runs in the cutting pen. Having been NCHA members themselves, the Perks family is no stranger to the cutting industry.
“We are excited to welcome this new partnership with Ghostwood,” Jay Winborn, NCHA executive director said. “The Perks family has been involved with NCHA for many years, and we are looking forward to a longstanding relationship with Ghostwood as well.”
NCHA members of legal age will have the opportunity to try Ghostwood’s blended bourbon whiskey at the upcoming 2020 NCHA Great American Insurance World Championship Futurity presented by North Texas Chevy Dealers.
In addition to the tastings at the NCHA Futurity, Ghostwood will provide awards to the high score of each day throughout the event. All finalists in the Open Division will also receive a bottle of Ghostwood Blended Bourbon Whiskey.
