Christina Huntley was born on February 20, 2000 in Houston, Texas to Audrey and EJ Huntley. She has one brother, Ryan, who is two years younger.
She graduated from School of the Woods High School in 2018 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Economics at Texas A&M University.
Christina has been around horses from an early age because her father is involved with cutting. She received her first horse for her fourth birthday and knew from that time that she wanted horses to be a part of her life. She started showing cutting horses when she was ten years old on a mare named Twister Lil Gal.
Accomplishments:
Christina primarily rode one horse throughout her youth career, Smart Frosty Cat. However, Ripping Ichi helped her finish out her youth career with a world championship.
Being inducted into the NYCHA Hall of Fame is a huge honor and a recognition of years of hard work. It took a lot of sacrifice from Christina as she juggled school, sports and family commitments. Yet, it was not possible without the generous help from family and friends. Her dad spent countless hours getting her where she needed to be and guiding her along the way. His help was immeasurable.
Christina would like to thank all those who helped her through the years. The help in the arena, those who loaned her horses, and everyone who provided advice and encouragement. The support she received and the friendships she’s gained have made her youth career a very special time in her life.
