The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Executive Committee met on April 27, 2020, to review decisions regarding NCHA earnings at upcoming shows.
Based on feedback from the membership, the NCHA Executive Committee voted and passed that NCHA Program Standings remain suspended until further notice. Earnings from shows during this time will not be calculated for award standings for the 2020-point year. These standings include Amateur Horse and Rider of the Year, Non-Pro and Open Horse of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Senior World Tour, World, Youth World, Youth Rookie of the Year, Area Leader Standings, Regional 4/5/6-year-old standings, Challenger Regional Championship Standings, Certificates of Achievement and Achievement Buckle awards Standings. Additionally, the Youth World Championship point year will remain as listed in the NCHA Rulebook.
Earnings during this time will continue to count toward Lifetime Earnings but not horse and rider eligibility. This situation will continue to be closely monitored, and the Executive Committee will reevaluate this suspension as more of the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and allow for horse shows to resume. Any changes to this suspension will be announced fourteen days prior to implementation.
