Dear Members of the National Cutting Horse Association,
I write this as our country is in a state of confusion about the future due to the coronavirus. This is something that unfortunately we have never had to experience before. The unknown is always something that is hard to understand. Closing public events, restaurants, theaters and asking people to not assemble in groups of more than 10 people has everyone concerned.
With that said, I am confident that the NCHA will continue to operate in the best interest of members. The Executive Committee along with the officers have been in constant contact with our Executive Director and the staff at the NCHA office. We are very fortunate to have the staff that we have. They have been meeting with the State and City governments for the last several days and believe me they are on top of this crisis. Our plan is to keep our membership fully advised as things happen.
We will post available updates on the NCHA website and the NCHA Facebook page in order to keep our membership up to date There will be several changes to the rest of our year and our members need to be patient as we work through this. It is challenging to prepare anything when every day something new is announced by either the Federal, State or Local governments.
By now you have been notified that the Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes is postponed indefinitely. We should have full clarification in about 7-10 days on how this will proceed. There is a strong possibility that cancellation will be necessary. Should this be the case NCHA will refund all entry fees. Again, I ask for your patience and understanding as we work through this.
For all that were planning to attend as a contestant or as an owner, please understand that we had no choice in this matter. We are following orders by the State of Texas and the City of Fort Worth. The Executive Committee and staff are working on finding a way to make the rest of the year safe and enjoyable as well as fair and balanced. Guidelines for the next 60 days were emailed out this week. We realize everyone would much rather be at a horse show than sitting at home. Beginning Monday the NCHA office and Executive Director will be updating information as it is available and will continue to update every Monday as we work through this crisis. Please keep yourself and your family as safe as possible by following the suggestions put out by the Center for Disease Control.
THIS TOO SHALL PASS!
