NCHA Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes is postponed

NCHA KIT KAT SUGAR SUPER STAKES IS POSTPONED

In compliance with the City of Fort Worth, The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) has postponed the upcoming NCHA Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes due to the current situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Association’s second leg of the Triple Crown was scheduled for March 24 through April 18 in Fort Worth, Texas.

“The safety and well-being of our members and guests is our highest priority,” Jay Winborn, NCHA Executive Director, said. “Although we are deeply saddened about having to postpone the show, we respect the decisions made by government and health officials.”

Mayor Betsy Price issued a state of emergency in Fort Worth, Texas due to Coronavirus (COVID 19) on Friday, March 13, 2020. NCHA has been in close contact with the City of Fort Worth during this process, and a meeting with city officials, Will Rogers Complex and the NCHA was held this morning at 10:00 AM where the decision to postpone was reached.

The NCHA is looking at alternative dates to hold the Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes, potentially this summer. An official statement on when the show will be rescheduled will be issued on Monday.
