Ali Good wins the second go-round with a 227.

Ali Good of Ringling, Oklahoma tightened her grip on the 2019 NCHA Non-Pro World Champion’s title with a 227-point win in the second round of the 7 Ranch NCHA World Finals in Fort Worth’s Watt Arena on Saturday, November 30.

The show continues with go-rounds on December 5 and 7, plus a non-working finals based on cumulative scores over the four rounds. The World Finals champion will be determined based on money earned over the five rounds.

Good, who brought an unbeatable lead to the show, rode second to the herd to earn another $6,035 on Cat Atat Cat. That brings her total for the year to $86,664.

Cat Atat Cat is a 9-year-old gelding by High Brow Cat out of Miss Stylish Pepto, with earnings of more than $232,000. Ali’s grandfather, NCHA Hall of Fame Rider Bill Riddle, showed the gelding through its aged event career for breeders Glenn and Debbie Drake, including a reserve championship in the 2015 NCHA Classic Challenge.

Ali, who placed seventh in last year’s standings and second in the World Finals on Cat Atat Cat, has also won championships with him at the NCHA Western and Eastern Nationals, The Non-Pro Cutting, and this year’s Way Out West Series at the Cascades Futurity.

Blakley Colgrove of Boligee, Alabama, marked 222 on Cat Man Blue, the same as her first round, for a cumulative score of 444 to take the lead in the “pencil” finals.
