Following his Southern Cutting Derby performances, The Dewd is now within $3,440 of becoming the seventh $100,000 earner sired by Metallic Cat out of Sweet Abra, including 2017 NCHA Open Horse of the Year Metallic Rebel LTE $411,837. With NCHA career earnings of $74,352 coming into the Southern Cutting, The Dewd claimed $15,000 as the Open Derby champion; $4,208 as the Open Limited reserve champion; and $1,773, as the Open Gelding champion.
This fall, The Dewd won the 2019 PCCHA Stakes Non-Pro Int. with Ashley Galyean, and was reserve champion of the NCHA Derby and the West Texas Derby Open Limited divisions with Rodrigo Taboga.
The Dewd’s owner, Beau Galyean, the NCHA Hall of Fame earner of $4 million, scored 226 points to win the Southern Cutting Classic and earn $15,000 riding Desiresomemettalic, by Metallic Cat, for Atwood Quarter Horses Inc, Kenwood, Calif.
