A Star Is Borne three-peat in the PCCHA 3 YO Futurity

A Star Is Borne three-peat

A Star Is Borne, shown by Michael Cooper for Belle Terre Ranch, Corinth, Miss., scored 226 points as the first horse to work in the PCCHA 3-Year-Old Futurity and never looked back. Lourdes, owned and shown by Beau Galyean, Amarillo, Tex., scored 220 points for reserve, while Tweezin My Brow, with Lloyd Cox for Kathleen Moore, placed third with 218.5 points.

It was the third championship win from three 3-year-old limited age finals for A Star Is Borne, sired by Boon Too Suen and bred by Rose Valley Ranch. The sorrel mare, out of the Smooth As A Cat daughter Holly Is Smooth LTE $225,782, also won the Cotton Stakes Futurity and the Brazos Bash Futurity with Cooper. Including her PCCHA winner’s take of $24,000, A Star Is Borne has NCHA earnings of $54,100 and is the leading 3-year-old money earner in 2019.

Metallic Cat daughter Lourdes, bred by Beau Galyean, won the Cotton Stakes Non-Pro and Non-Pro Int. Futurity, and claimed the West Texas Futurity Non-Pro reserve championship with Beau’s wife and co-owner Ashley Galyean. With NCHA earnings of $44,865, Lourdes is the #2 leading 3-year-old money earner in 2019.

Tweezin My Brow, by High Brow Cat out of Miss Stylish Pepto $216,005, and a full sister to Cat Atat Cat LTE $211,650 and Miss Stylish Katz LTE $101,748, won the West Texas Non-Pro Futurity with Ty Moore, Madill, Okla. and, including her PCCHA Futurity Open paycheck of $17,000, has NCHA earnings of $40,100. The Western Bloodstock NCHA Futurity Sales graduate was bred by Glenn and Debbie Drake.
