Longtime NCHA member Jeff Chase, 63, died Thursday, September 19, 2019, at his home in Perryton, Tex. A lifetime resident of Perryton, born on July 6, 1956 to Hal Chase and Doris Wagnon Chase, Jeff Chase attended West Texas A & M in Canyon and began farming and ranching with his father at the age of 18. In addition to being a cattle producer, he raised, trained and showed cutting horses. In 2006, he won the Abilene Spectacular Open Limited with Light N Hickory, and in 2014 he placed eighth in the NCHA Western Nationals Open riding Leave N Las Vegas.
Chase was a member of First Baptist Church of Perryton and was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roxanne Chase; and one brother, Hal Chase, Jr. He is survived by two sons, Tanner Chase of Perryton and Seth Chase and wife Casey, of Magdalena, NM; one daughter, Jesse Balzer and husband Kyler, of Perryton; two stepsons, Blaine Green and Brett Green, both of Amarillo; and grandchildren, Taren Chase, Jack Chase, Ellie Chase, Mason and Madison Price, and Bailey and Hailey Chase.
Funeral services were held September 23, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Perryton. The family suggests memorials be given to one’s favorite charity.
