To Membership:
The National Cutting Horse Association Executive Committee (EC) met on September 12, 2019, at the request of NCHA President, Ron Pietrafeso, to discuss the recent input and feedback received from eight regional calls and the membership as a whole related to EC decisions made during the August 5-7, 2019 EC meeting.
An item discussed at today’s EC meeting was the proposed two-class structure that was presented at the August EC meeting by the Non-Pro Committee. At the August EC meeting, the EC voted to send the proposal to the Competition Committee for further analysis. However today, the EC voted to rescind the motion to send the proposed two-class structure to the Competition Committee for analysis. No further action was taken by the EC on the proposal.
Another item deliberated at today’s EC meeting was the limiting of the number of horses per rider at Limited Age Events. The limited horse rule was voted on and passed at the August EC meeting. The EC voted to rescind this motion, and no further action was taken on the item.
The EC recognizes that a mistake was made during the August EC meeting with the vote on limiting of the number of horses. The NCHA appreciates all the feedback and participation from the dedicated members that are passionate about the sport of cutting and are engaged in the future of the Association.
