The new year is off with a flash for the National Cutting Horse Association as they announce their new official photographer for all Triple Crown Events, Ted Petit Photography. No stranger to the cutting horse industry, Petit also serves as the Association’s Official Videographer via Video West Productions with his son, Seth Petit.
Lewis Wray, Interim Executive Director for NCHA, said the father-son duo have been monumental assets for documenting the history-making runs at the Triple Crown Events, and is honored to have the team capture those moments in still form, as well as video.
“They have been tied to the industry for years,” said Wray. “Ted and his son, Seth, have been exceptional as the Official Videographer of the NCHA and we are excited to have that same level of skill and passion for the industry in the Official Photographer.”
Ted and Seth, of Palmdale, California, have been videoing and photographing events in the equine industry for more than a decade, focusing primarily on Cutting Horse events. Their work can be found in numerous national publications, as well as television shows.
Ted said he is always looking for ways to learn more about the art, and looking forward to the experience of photographing NCHA’s Triple Crown Events.
“This is an amazing opportunity,” said Ted. “I’m excited to get to work with the NCHA in both aspects of videography and photography.”
The second leg of the NCHA Triple Crown Events will kick off March 28, 2019, with the Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes and Super Stakes Classic at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. More information and the schedule of events can be found at nchacutting.com
