218.5 leads the UNL Amateur

July 24, Fort Worth, Tex.

Following three days of 2018 NCHA/Metallic Cat Summer Spectacular Classic Challenge Amateur/Unlimited Amateur first go-round competition, 57 entrants with scores of 211 or higher are headed for Wednesday’s Unlimited Amateur Semi-Finals. Leading the field are Stacie McDavid, Fort Worth, Tex., and Gary Rosenbach, Weatherford, Tex., who tied with the go-round high of 218.5 points, respectively, on DMAC Piccolo Pete LTE $122,295, by WR This Cats Smart, and Cattys Hope LTE $237,635, by Catty Hawk.

Stacie McDavid, an NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $962,116, also qualified for the Semi-Finals on DMAC Bellini Martini, by High Brow Cat. Gary Rosenbach, owner of Rose Valley Ranch and the NCHA earner of $174,524, qualified with two other horses, American Snyper $41,981, by Dual Rey, and Acres In Autumn LTE $46,115, by Autumn Acre. Cattys Hope was a Classic Challenge Open finalist last week, as well, under Michael Cooper.

Stacie McDavid and DMAC Piccolo Pete also marked 218.5 points, the round’s second highest score, in the first go-round of the Classic Challenge Non-Pro.

Competition in Tuesday’s Senior Youth Scholarship Cutting go-round was as heated as the asphalt outside, in Fort Worth. Ryan Rapp, Weatherford, Tex., marked the high score of 225 points riding Dont Stopp Believin, by Dual Rey, while four other riders tied with 222 points, the second-highest — Lance Cooper,Weatherford, Tex., on Fancy Rey, sired by Dual Rey and owned by Charles Burger; Regan Plendl, Kingsley, Iowa, on Cool Cat Dual Rey, sired by Dual Rey and owned by Kobie Wood; Reyly Plendl, Kingsley, Iowa, on Paradox Cat, sired by High Brow Cat and owned by Shannon Lamb; and Cade Shepard, Summerdale, Ala., on Spoonfulla Cat, sired by Hes A Peptoboonsmal and owned by Jonathan and Judy Rogers.

Go-round winner Rapp, showed Dont Stopp Believin LTE $361,792, owned by his parents, Phil and Mary Ann Rapp, to place sixth in the 2017 NYCHA Senior Youth Scholarship Cutting.
