Terry Hollis, who won the 2004 NCHA Classic Challenge aboard LB Cowtown Twist, scored 222 points on Tuesday, to win the 2018 NCHA/Metallic Cat Summer Spectacular Classic Challenge Limited Open riding Isabella Rey, owned by Paul Thompson, Aledo, Tex. Glynn Whitman and Reyvinmetallicat, owned by Kathleen Moore, Madill, Okla., scored 220 points for reserve, while Mackie Hursh, riding Bunnys Passion for Rick and Deby Reeves, Hallsville, Tex., placed third in the 10-horse finals with 214.5 points.

Isabella Rey LTE $30,589 placed ninth earlier this year with owner Thompson in the NCHA Super Stakes Classic Amateur finals. The 6-year-old Dual Rey daughter is out of Quixote From Heaven LTE $3,405, by Heavens Little Lena, the dam of five NCHA earners of $119,109.

Terry Hollis, Millsap, Tex., is the career earner of $593,857.

Reyvinmetallicat LTE $71,640 placed ninth in the 2018 NCHA Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro with Ty Moore, and won the 2018 Non-Pro Plus Open $2,000 Limited Rider with Cody Green. The 5-year-old daughter of Metallic Cat earned her biggest paychecks, however, in 2017, when she placed third with James Payne in the Southern Futurity Open and eighth with Kathleen Moore in the NCHA Derby Non-Pro. Reyvinmetallicat is the first performer out of Reyvorce LTE $45,887, by Dual Rey. The 5-year-old was a $50,000 purchase as a yearling at the Western Bloodstock NCHA Futurity Sales.

Glynn Whitman, Madill, Okla., is the NCHA earner of $413,789.

Five-year-old Bunnys Passion LTE $28,390 was a 2016 NCHA Futurity Open Semi-Finalist under John Wold, who also placed with her in the 2017 Non-Pro Plus Open finals. The Cats Merada daughter also carried owner Rick Reeves to place ninth in the 2018 Breeders Invitational 5/6 Senior Amateur division.

Bunnys Passion, bred by Furst Ranch, is out of Lenas Stylish Bunny, by Docs Stylish Oak, who has produced six earners of $613,313, all sired by Cats Merada.

Mackie Hursh, Colorado City, Tex., reserve champion of the 2011 NCHA Super Stakes Open on Sticky Spot, is the NCHA earner of $617,460.

Cattys Hope wins Classic Challenge second go-round
Cattys Hope scored 222.5 points on Tuesday to win the second go-round of the NCHA/Metallic Cat Summer Spectacular Classic Challenge. The score gave the 5-year-old daughter of Catty Hawk, owned by Rose Valley Ranch, Weatherford, Tex. and shown by Michael Cooper, a cumulative score of 439 points and advanced her to Saturday’s finals, where 26 horses with cumulative scores of 436.5 points or higher will compete for the championship.

Cattys Hope LTE $237,635, shown exclusively by Michael Cooper, won the 2017 Abilene Spectacular and the Brazos Bash and placed second in the Breeders Invitational. This year, she won the reserve championship of the Bonanza 5/6 Classic.

Stevie Rey Von, by Metallic Cat, shown by Beau Galyean for Fults Ranch, Amarillo, Tex., claimed the high cumulative score 443 points in the Classic Challenge go-rounds, while Velvets Revolver, by WR This Cats Smart, shown by James Payne for Crown Ranch, Weatherford, Tex., was second with 441.5 points, and Copperish, by Metallic Cat, shown by Lloyd Cox for Jimmie Miller Smith, Geary, Okla., had the third highest cumulative of 441 points.
