2017 NCHA Eastern National Championships – March 14, 2018 – Jackson, Miss.

Ali Good, Ringling, Okla., scored 222 points on Wednesday to claim the NCHA Eastern Nationals $25,000 Novice Non-Pro championship, three days after she posted 221 points to capture the Senior Youth championship. Eric Vanboekel, Mt. Elgin, Ontario., earned the reserve champion’s title with 220 points, while Colt Moore, Williston, Fla., placed third with 217.5 points.

Ali Good, 2017 NCHA Futurity Non-Pro Limited champion aboard Sneakish, showed Cat Atat Cat LTE $86,903 to win both the Eastern Nationals $25,000 Novice Non-Pro and Senior Youth  championships. A gelded son of High Brow Cat, 8-year-old Cat Atat Cat also carried Good to win the $35,000 Non-Pro division of the 2017 Non-Pro Cutting and to place third in the 2017 NCHA World Series Non-Pro at the AQHA Congress.

Good, the lifetime earner of $44,375, won the 2010 NCHA Summer Spectacular Junior Youthcompetition riding Cees Little Poo, when she was 10 years old.

Eric Vanboekel showed 7-year-old Peppys Cashin Checks LTE $120,356, by Im Countin Checks, who he rode as reserve champion of the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Classic Amateur Unlimited and champion of the 2016 West Texas Futurity 5/6 Amateur Unlimited.

Vanboekel ,the NCHA lifetime earner of $372,044, won the 2016 Cotton Stakes 4-Year-Old Amateur Unlimited on Wendels Little Missy, as well as the 2012 Tunica Futurity 4-Year-Old Non-Pro Limited with Mister Boss Hog, and the 2011 Southern Futurity 4-Year-Old Amateur on Scarlet Catdancer.

Colt Moore, Williston, Fla., was the 2009 NCHA Junior Youth Rookie of the Year and has been an NCHA Eastern Nationals finalist 10 times, including 2014, when he won the $35,000 Non-Pro Finals on Highwood Dancer. Three days ago, he placed seventh in the Eastern Nationals Senior Youth Finals on Catsratch Sister LTE $108,636 by WR This Cats Smart, who was also his mount in the $25,000 Novice Non-Pro. Moore is the NCHA lifetime earner of $108,636.
