Cool N Hot and rider Kobie Wood turned up the heat on Monday, February 12, with a 222-point win worth $34,570, in the 28-horse Bonanza 4-Year-Old Finals. Cheshire Cat and Beau Galyean claimed reserve and $27,656 with 218.5 points, while Catillac Reys and Adan Banuelos took third and $24,199 with 218 points.

Cool N Hot is owned by his breeder and Wood’s wife, Paula, who showed the Hottish-sired colt to place fifth in the NCHA Futurity Non-Pro Finals. Paula Wood also showed Cool N Hot’s dam, Donas Cool Cat LTE $315,104, to win the 2007 Bonanza Non-Pro Classic and the 2006 NCHA Non-Pro World Finals.

Cool N Hot, with up-to-date earnings of $84,853, is a half-brother to Donas Suen Boon LTE $420,965, by Boon Too Suen, and to Cool Cat Dual Rey LTE $190,475, by Dual Rey, both bred and shown by Paula and trained and shown by Kobie.

Cheshire Cat , owned by Jeffrey Neidhart and bred by Karen Freeman, earned his first limited age paycheck in the Bonanza. The High Brow Cat son is out of Autumn Boon LTE $244,470, the dam of NCHA earners of over $1.7 million.

Cattilac Reys, owned by Ten/27 Ranch and bred by Michelle Cannon , was The Ike Futurity Non-Pro reserve champion most recently with Elizabeth Queen. The Metallic Cat son is the career earner of $47,792.
