Hashtags, cutting’s number one 4-year-old money earner in 2017, earned $20,870 and his first major win of 2018 with 223 points on Saturday, in the Bonanza 5/6 Classic. Ridden by Tatum Rice, the blue roan stallion, sired by Metallic Cat and owned by Hashtag Ventures, was also a recent finalist in the Abilene Spectacular Classic and the Augusta Futurity Classic, and has lifetime earnings of $288,609.
Cattys Hope, also a top ranked (number 4) 4-year-old money earner in 2017, scored 222 points for reserve under Michael Cooper. The 5-year-old daughter of Catty Hawk, owned by Rose Valley Ranch, earned $16,696 and has lifetime earnings of $228,063.
Under The Reydar, shown by Adan Banuelos for Plantation Farms, placed third with 221.5 points. The 6-year-old Halreycious-sired gelding earned $14,557 and has lifetime earnings of $75,557. He is out of Twice As Reycy LTE $194,141, the dam of six NCHA money earners of $544,973.
Banuelos also showed the 6-year-old Dual Smart Rey gelding B Nimble LTE $56,673, owned by SMF Cutting Horses, as well as the 5-year-old Lizzys Gotta Player daughter My Stylish Babe LTE $5,500, owned by Tim and Melissa Drummond, to place 11th and 14/15, respectively.
Michael Cooper also showed Ripping Ichi LTE $128,016, sired by Cat Ichi and owned by Reata Cutting Horses, as a finalist with 211 points, in the 25-horse field.
