2017 Ike Concludes

Reyzurbetsonthiscat cashed in at The Ike Futurity & Classic, held from January 27 to February 4, 2017, at the Ike Hamiliton Expo Center, West Monroe, La. Ridden by Craig Thompson for Barnwell Ramsey, Huntersville, NC, the Bets Hesa Cat son scored 223 points to win the 4-Year-Old Open Finals and the 4-Year-Old Gelding Open for a total of $24,854. Reyzurbetsonthiscat is a half-brother to Melodys Pepto LTE $135,369 and Jay Moss Cougar LTE $120,175.

Hes Real Special scored 220 points as reserve champion in both classes under Casey Green, for Leigh and Holly Bilton, Alberta, Can. Sired by Dual Smart Rey, Hes Real Special is out of Special Nu Kitty LTE $301,268.

These were the fourth and fifth consecutive championships for Reyzurbetsonthiscat , who won the 2017 Augusta Futurity Open with Thompson, as well as the 2016 NCHA Amateur Futurity and Senior Amateur under Ramsey, and has unofficial career earnings of $57,121. Hes Real Special also earned money in the 2016 NCHA Futurity, as an open semi-finalist with Green, and has unofficial career earnings of $31,857.

Ashley Flynn, Weatherford, Tex., scored 218 points on Smooth Sailing Cat to win the 4-Year-Old Non-Pro, where Lauren Middleton marked 217.5 points on Cake By The Ocean for reserve. Smooth Sailing Cat, by Smooth As A Cat, also carried Flynn for the reserve championship of the Abilene Spectacular 4-Year-Old Non-Pro and has unofficial career earnings of $29,091.

Cake By The Ocean, sired by Sweet Lil Pepto, earned $12,405 as the Ike Non-Pro reserve champion and has unofficial career earnings of $13,300.
