Fort Worth, Texas — The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) and the National Youth Cutting Horse Association (NYCHA) are proud to announce Aubrey Gist of Placerville, California as the recipient of the 2025 Rafter P Youth Award, presented by Rafter P Construction.
The NCHA is honored to partner with Rafter P Construction to offer this distinguished award, which provides one deserving NCHA youth member with financial assistance to attend the 2025 NCHA Great American Insurance Group Summer Cutting Spectacular and the NYCHA World Finals in Fort Worth, Texas. As part of the award, the recipient will also have the opportunity to compete in the NCHA Foundation Scholarship Cutting, participate in various NYCHA events, and engage with fellow youth members from across the nation.
Aubrey Gist was selected by Rafter P Construction for her dedication, enthusiasm, and passion for the sport of cutting. Her journey into the discipline began just last year, and her rapid progression and commitment stood out.
"I’d like to thank Rafter P Construction and the NCHA for this amazing opportunity to compete with the best youth cutters in the world!" said Gist.
"I grew up doing high school rodeo and thought it would be fun to add cutting as an event last year. Little did I know after my first lesson I’d be hooked! I plan to advocate for the importance of the alliance between the NCHA and NHSRA—it’s a great gateway to bring new youth into our sport."
The NCHA and NYCHA commend Aubrey for her passion and are excited to support her as she represents the future of cutting horse competition.
