FORT WORTH – The National Cutting Horse Association would like to congratulate Cheryl Callis of Texline, Texas, for being selected as the 2021 recipient of the Sandy Sokol Secretary of the Year Award.
“I’m totally blown away,” said Callis. “There are so many wonderful secretaries out there, and we all work together. I’m no better than anyone else, but I’m really, really honored. We have a great organization, and I love NCHA from the bottom of my heart. I couldn’t do the job I do if it weren’t for the support of the NCHA staff, particularly Lynn Winkler and Linda Smith, and all the members who support our affiliates.”
Presented in honor of the late Sandy Sokol, who was a long-time and well-loved NCHA secretary, this award is given annually to an outstanding NCHA secretary who is nominated by NCHA members.
“It is no secret that our show secretaries are some of the most important people in the NCHA organization,” said Jay Winborn, NCHA executive director. “I would like to personally congratulate Cheryl and thank all of our secretaries for their unwavering dedication to the NCHA, the sport of cutting, and every single one of our members.”
Callis will be presented with the Sandy Sokol Secretary of the Year Award at the upcoming 2021 NCHA Metallic Cat World Championship Futurity.
