Panhandle CHA named 2020 Affiliate of the Year

The National Cutting Horse Association is pleased to announce that Panhandle Cutting Horse Association has been named the 2020 NCHA Affiliate of the Year with Great Lakes Cutting Horse Association winning 2020 NCHA Reserve Affiliate of the Year.

The Panhandle Cutting Horse Association regularly hosts shows in in west Texas and surrounding areas drawing members to compete in both their buckle classes and saddle series that is held in conjunction with Palo Duro Cutting Horse Association.

“I feel that the biggest draws to Panhandle CHA shows is that we have fresh cattle in all classes at every show, plus virtually all of our club profits go into our annual awards budget to ensure quality awards for each class,” said Lee Ann Bates, Panhandle CHA secretary. “We have been blessed in the past few years with having our numbers increase significantly as people have come to realize that we consistently put on quality shows. I would like to recognize our president, Brad Baxter, and our board members who work hard to make sure the details of each show are taken care of so that contestants have a good show experience when they come to our shows. I also want to thank our area director, Cheryl Callis, who nominated us for the honor, and thank you to NCHA for this program that recognizes the affiliates for their hard work and dedication to excellence.”

The Great Lakes Cutting Horse Association based out of Goodrich, Michigan has won 2020 NCHA Reserve Affiliate of the Year. GLCHA is comprised of cutters from Michigan and the surrounding states.

“I would like to congratulate both Panhandle CHA and Great Lakes CHA on a great year,” said Jay Winborn, NCHA executive director. “These affiliates have done an excellent job producing welcoming shows to members at our weekend level, and it is exciting to see continued growth throughout our sport across the country.”
