Dirk Blakesley, riding Dulces Smart Rey LTE $20,349 for Marvin Moser, Leon, Kan., scored 223 points for the reserve championship. Bred by John McGraw, Marshall, Mo., and sired by Dual Smart Rey, Dulces Smart Rey is out of Little Sandia Dulce, an unshown daughter of Smart Little Lena and a half-sister to 1993 NCHA Open Horse of the Year Little Badger Dulce LTE $657,276, by Peppy San Badger. Dirk Blakesley, the NCHA Hall of Fame earner of over $1.5 million, was an NCHA Futurity Open finalist last year on Nitreyious LTE $79,939, by Metallic Cat, and in 2019 on Kual Kat LTE $161,149, by High Brow Cat.
